John Abraham’s Satyemeva Jayate opened in theatres on August 15, clashing with Gold. The movie did a phenomenal business on its opening day earning Rs 20.52 crore. With those numbers, Satyemeva Jayate became John’s highest opener ever, beating films like Race 2 and Force 2. It also became the first movie with an A certificate to earn that number. Well, come the second day, the movie has seen a massive dip.
On the second day of its run, Satyameva Jayate was only able to rake in Rs 7.92 crore. The two-day grand total stands at Rs 28.44 crore as of now. But the makers should not worry, as the second day was a weekday as the movie released on a Wednesday. An entire weekend lies ahead of Satyameva Jayate and certainly a good opportunity to earn more.

Satyameva Jayate has been directed by Milap Zaveri. It also stars Aisha Sharma and Manoj Bajpayee in key roles alongside John.
John is having quite a great year. His first release of the year, Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran was a hit upon its release. Now, within months, his second film also holds a very strong possibility to be declared a hit. At least, commercially. Its critical standing is a different topic altogether.
BollywoodLife’s film critic Ankita Chaurasia watched the movie and found it to be an average affair. She was all praise for Nora Fatehi’s special appearance in the song Dilbar.
